This month marks 50 years of maskmaking expertise for my dad, Robert Tharp. To celebrate, he wrote a post for my horror website, HorrorFam.com, about his favorite “unmasking” moments in horror films AKA the scenes where the monster/killer/whoever finally has their normal facade ripped away and they’re SHOCKINGLY REVEALED for who they really are! :O
He came up with 16 of what he considers the very best of those moments, spanning from 1925 through 2007! Check it out, this upcoming Friday (June 21st), on HorrorFam.com!
This drawing is fan art of (spoilers) his favorite unmasking moment in film. It was a memorable one for me as well because the rest of the movie was putting me into Nap Mode when I first watched it when I was around 11 and then I quite literally fell out of my chair when Mona ripped back her bandages lol. Shocking! (I rewatched it to get visual reference for my drawing and that moment still holds up… and the rest of She Demons is still kind of a snooze haha).
Love my writing/art/other…? Please help fuel my creativity by buying me a cup of coffee! ♥
