Since I work primarily as a ghostblogger and an editor, I'm not at liberty to share much of my actual work, only where I've worked. There are links to my bylined work below, when available, that can be used as writing samples. And, of course, you can get a feel for my writing style from the articles I've written on the LittleZotz Writing blog.
LittleZotz Writing - Freelance Writer & Editor
As the owner of LittleZotz Writing, I've created a multiple award-winning blog for would-be freelance writers. I've also worked as a freelance writer and editor for several small businesses around the world (my specialty is ghostblogging). Anything not mentioned below was probably done via LittleZotz Writing...
Be a Freelance Blogger - Managing Editor
I was in charge of submission management (potential guest posters sent their article ideas/pitches to me for approval -- and I made sure that their final drafts looked fabulous once they were published!). I also answered reader questions and comments, and frequently contributed articles of my own to the BAFB blog.
The Fashion Circle - Head Editor
The Fashion Circle was an online magazine that featured fashion, beauty, and lifestyle articles. I signed on to help them out for 30 days.. As their temporary Head Editor, I was charge of a full staff of writers. I took articles written by my writing team and polished them up so they looked great when published. I also contributed my own articles, ran the social media accounts, and created successful ad campaigns.
133T - Head Editor & Head Writer
In addition to writing my own articles for the 133T blog, I also kept track of pitches and drafts from guest writers. Once a guest writer's article was accepted, I'd edit it into perfection, format it, add a photo, and make it look fabulous before uploading it to the 133T blog.
Jefferson Media Group - Senior Editor
I was the Senior Editor for a political news site run by Jefferson Media Group. I edited news stories, all day every day. I assigned stories to writers, and kept the writers on task. I also did social media work as necessary. I was let go after the publication decided to go in a new direction and they no longer needed me; but, for those four months, I kept the publication in tip-top shape and helped publish the very BEST material possible on their site, keeping both the readers and the higher-ups happy and coming back for more.
Fab Fit Travel - Contributing Writer
Travel, fitness, and femininity. Fab Fit Travel is a blog for women who love to have adventures and look good doing it! I wrote for Fab Fit Travel as Head Writer for about a year, helping them to get their start, and now come back as a guest writer every once in a while whenever they need a little help.
Rainmaker Digital - Editorial Assistant
I assisted the Copyblogger editorial team with a number of writing-related tasks.
DIY Writing - Columnist
I wrote a successful monthly column ("Freelance by Lauren") for DIY Writing's A Writer's Bucket List about how writers can get started as freelancers.
The Penny Hoarder - Contributing Writer
I wrote articles/reported blog posts on unique ways to earn and save money. (Was a staff writer for one year and have since written occasional guest posts).
Foundr Magazine - Contributing Writer
Each month, I was given an interview with an amazing entrepreneur to listen to and I crafted it into a magazine-style feature article. I wrote several articles for Foundr, including a couple cover stories, which proved to be big readership draws for the publication.
Miami Paper Exporters, Inc. - Blog Writer
Each month, I came up with fun ways to use specialty paper...and then wrote about those fun things on the Miami Envelopes blog!
Ankit - Copywriter
Back when Ankit was purely a designer headphone company, I wrote all of the copy for their website (The About Page, the Social Responsibility Page, the Media Kit, and all of the Product Descriptions). And, for around 3 months, I was in charge of their Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ accounts. I came up with the idea for BATTLE MONDAY and wrote all of the haikus for Haiku Fridays.
WebTalk Radio - SEO Writer
I wrote episode descriptions for certain shows, including Annemarie Cross' The Ambitious Entrepreneur podcast, and did some simple on-site SEO work.
Sarasota Dog - Contributing Writer
I wrote breed profiles and other articles related to "all things Dog."
WP Pro Business - Head Writer
I wrote articles on how to use WordPress to run an online business.
US Combat Sports - Reporter
I interviewed Muay Thai superstars and reported on upcoming fights/events.
Risarc Productions - Marketer
I worked as an in-house writer in the marketing department of Risarc Productions with a focus on their show airing on G4TV, Champions of Champions Elite. During the first season of Champions of Champions Elite, I wrote all the entries on their Official Blog as well as updated their Official Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter accounts.
Clark Chronicle - Head Writer
I was the head writer for my high school's newspaper. While this wasn't a paying gig, I wanted to include it on my resume because - hey - everyone has to get their start somewhere! I'm proud that this was my "somewhere." 🙂 I was published a few times in Teen magazine (remember that?) around this time as well.
