I didn’t watch a lot of television as a child, but now that I’m a grown-up–and have my own Netflix account!–I’ve been making up for lost time. However, since I’m incapable of truly relaxing, I always find myself looking for “real world” lessons in the shows I watch. And I think I found some good ones in My Name is Earl.
The Power of Lists
The premise of My Name is Earl is pretty simple. Earl, a man who’s done wrong his entire life, is in a near-fatal accident after having just won the lottery (with a stolen ticket!). While in the hospital, he’s introduced to the concept of Karma. From there, he writes a list of every bad thing he’s ever done and begins his quest to right his wrongs–one list item at a time!
I loved Earl’s list. At this moment, I have no less than 5 lists in front of me. I love making lists! From “Things to Buy” to “Things to Do,” lists help keep me on track.
