It’s time to meet Ms. August: Danielle Lynn. Danielle is an amazing copywriter and marketing consultant. She’s also one of the smartest most adorable people I know.
How I Know Danielle
I met Danielle during my first week of high school back in 1999. For two full weeks, she thought my name was “Katie” (and I was so happy to have someone nice talking to me that I didn’t bother to correct her). We became close friends over the years and, last year, she became my mentor when I finally decided I wanted to write professionally–for a living!–rather than just do an article or two “every once in a while.” She’s truly an inspiration in more ways than one.
My Interview with Danielle Lynn
What do you do?
I’m a freelance copywriter and marketing consultant.
How did you start?
One day, I saw an ad requesting a copywriter. I had no idea what that was – so I read up on it. The more I read, the more awesome a job it sounded. So I picked up every book I could find on the matter and taught myself. A year later, I’m working as a freelance copywriter and in-house copywriter for several clients – and I love it!
What’s your favourite part of what you do?
I love being able to convey meaning in such simple yet powerful ways that makes people take action. The pen truly is mightier than the sword!
I also get to use neat adjectives.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to get into doing what you do?
Write every day, don’t let obstacles hold you back, and face everything with a child-like curiosity.
What’s next for you/your business?
I’m off to sail the 7 seas in search of the golden pen!… Or most likely be releasing some new mini-books with my personal copywriting tips for my subscribers at theclearcopywriter.com to enjoy!

I love that picture of us – we both look so happy. Although I don’t quite understand my hand position. Invisible juggling anyone?

Haha “invisible juggling!” You crack me up.
You were actually turning around like “Whut??” because Lenny was sneaking up on us with a camera. ;P Candid shot “FTW” as the kids these days would say.
